Q&A
Why ultrasonic?
Because our unique principle (velocity for concentration meter & torsion mode vibration for viscosity meter), our products do not require any periodical parts replacement. Moreover, periodical calibration is not required. This provides minimum running cost for the owner.
How to purchase?

More about sample testing
In case of that your subject is now for us, we practice sample testing with free of charge. Please ask our local agent for the detail. In general, sample testing requires approximately 2 weeks.
More about explosion proof model
The explosion proof repeater is required for explosion proof model even though the distance is less than 10m. Please review the specifications of each products for explosion proof specification.
More about demo trial
Free demo trial is available in order to confirm actual performance at site. Please ask the local agent for the demo unit. The trail period is 3 weeks in general.
Concentration Meter (FUD-1 series)
How to calibrate?
Adjustment with OFFSET & GAIN functions is available in case of finding the gap between the concentration reading on display & absolute (analysis) value.
How to check the condition
Please prepare water in vessel, and measure velocity & temperature of water. When the gap between the standard water velocity & the present velocity reading is less than 2m/sec, the product as hardware works normally. Also, please check transducer condition such as scratch, dent & stain.
Standard water velocityAny replacement item?
This product does not feature any item which can ware out or age. However, we suggest to replace a power supply unit for the product over 10 years. Also, replacement of an explosion proof repeater over 15 years is suggested.
Any caution at installation?
The common trouble on our product is measurement error due to bubble affection. Bubble interrupts or reduces the ultrasonic pulse travelling in the solution. We strongly suggest to review bubble condition at the installation position in advance.

Measurement errors
?Bubble affection Bubbles in solution can be critical for measurement. Please avoid bubble affection absolutely.
?Stain / Sludge / accretion Stain, sludge & accretion should cause reduction of ultrasonic pulse. Periodical cleaning is suggested under these conditions.
?Noise affection Noise typically causes spikes on reading. Please give proper countermeasure such as “changing GND and/or power source route”, “Cable re-wiring” & “noise filter”.
Viscosity Meter (FUV-1 series)
How to calibrate?
Adjustment with OFFSET & GAIN functions is available in case of finding the gap between the concentration reading on display & absolute value.
How to check the condition?
Please check the viscosity reading on display under condition of air (around 0 mPa.S), water (0 to 2 mPa.S) & JIS standard oil (minimum gap).
Any replacement item?
This product does not feature any item which can ware out or age. However, we suggest to replace a power supply unit for the product over 10 years. Also, replacement of an explosion proof repeater over 15 years is suggested.
Measurement range?
FUV-1 features 3 types based on viscosity range as low viscosity (0-100mPa.S), middle viscosity (0-1,000mPa.S) & high viscosity (0-10,000mPa.S). Temperature limitation for low & middle is 0-100 degree C, and for high is 0-50 degree C.
Desktop Viscosity Meter (FCV-100)
Measurement range?
FCV-100 features 3 types based on viscosity range as low viscosity (0-100mPa.S), middle viscosity (0-1,000mPa.S) & high viscosity (0-10,000mPa.S).
Temperature range?
10 to 40 degree C.
Correlation with B (rotation) type?
Certain correlation can be found with B-type for Newtonian fluid theoretically. However, it is uncertain for Non-Newtonian fluid due to different shearing speed. FCV-100 has viscosity conversion function (liner compensation with 10 points data input) for this requirement.
Data logging?
RS232C communication software (CD) is bundled. It is possible to store the log data (as text file) in your laptop with this software. Moreover, you can make a real time graph for viscosity & temperature.
Option items
Carrying case, cramp stand & RS232C cable are available as extra charged option. Please ask the local agent in detail.
Minimum volume for measurement?
With the extra option of the small volume vessel, measurement is available for 30 ml.

Unstable measurement
The followings are typical conditions of unstable measurement. Please avoid these conditions for proper measurement.
- Incomplete immersing
- Unstable temperature
- Touching with side wall of the vessel
- Stain / accretion on the transducer
- Ununiformed viscosity (incomplete mixture) of the sample
